Ascension Day Service of Lessons & Psalms

Did you know that there's such a thing as Ascension Day? Ascension Day is 40 days after Easter Sunday and is always on a Thursday. The ascension of Christ is an important redemptive historical event and is worthy of an annual remembrance and celebration. Jesus said to His disciples: “It is better for you if I go." Come and hear why that is and celebrate Christ's ascension with us!

We'll hear seven lessons from the Bible, three from the Old Testament that anticipate Christ's ascension, and four from the New Testament that speak of its fulfillment and benefits for us, His redeemed people. After each lesson we'll sing a Psalm that speaks prophetically of Christ's ascension and reign at the Father's right hand. We'll also sing an opening and closing hymn that praises God for the exaltation of Christ.

"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God"(Colossians 3:1).

Following the service there will be a time of fellowship with some light snacks and refreshments.
