Since its early days as a rural community, Deer Park has housed numerous diverse food sources, ranging from small casual eateries to grocery stores to delis to taverns. The rise and fall of these food establishments have paralleled the development of the community from its early days as a small community along the Yonge Street highway to its development as a Toronto streetcar suburb to its intensification and growth into a commercial hub in midtown.
