Our next session to mitigate burdock in the park will beJune 1410-11:30
Event: Community Stewardship of Trinity Bellwoods Park
Where: Meet top of the dog bowl south end near path
When: Saturday, June 14 10:00 a.m. - 11:30
Other tentative dates to put on your calendar are June 21, 28, July 5, 12, 19.26 (maybe ).Please note no tickets required. It is a free event.
Check the weather and your email the morning of, and if pouring or thundering it will be rescheduled. I WILL EMAIL IF RESCHEDULED. If raining lightly we may go ahead.
Wear: Dress for the weather, long sleeves and pants to protect your skin, work gloves, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses if needed.
Bring: Water, digger or hand trowel, clippers, or even good scissors, perhaps a bucket, spade. We do have some tools to share so come even if you don’t have equipment.
What: After a brief intro and safety reminders, we’ll continue the season with a short demonstration to remove burdock and possibly garlic mustard, and avens, focusing on removing invasive plants from around existing native wildflowers, shrubs and trees around the southern area of the park at the top of the dog bowl and possibly along the edge at top of bowl.
Look for the fluorescent vests to find us.
