The Lounge Academy - Reid's Concert Series

The Lounge Academy is a seductive swirl of smoky jazz, Parisian charm, and mid-century cool. Featuring Tak Arikushi on guitar, Rachel Melas on bass, and Corry Ouellette on vocals and trumpet, the trio conjures an atmosphere that’s equal parts vintage sophistication and contemporary allure.

Their journey began with a tribute to the iconic album Julie Is Her Name, a sublimely chill collection that paired the velvet voice of Julie London with the understated brilliance of Barney Kessel’s guitar. The Lounge Academy evolved to embrace French swing, bossa nova, and other provocative jazz gems — all delivered with a signature blend of intimacy and style.

Whether in a dusky lounge or at a candlelit soirée, their performances transport audiences to another era, where the music is slow, the lights are low, and every note lingers just a little longer than the last.
