We absolutely love having new, exciting original music at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave)! That’s why we are super excited for Thursday August 21st, as we have a true Indie music showcase with 3 incredible bands! Come out and check out Meadoways, Louisiana Child, and Rhythm Oil! The show starts at 7:30pm, PWYC!
Meadoways
When they were young, Meadoways attended school together and one fateful afternoon were visited by an officer from D.A.R.E. Deeply moved, the group decided to form a musical unit as somewhat of a countermeasure. Inspired by the Medieval era, the Wild West and the Incoming Dystopian Nightmare, Meadoways will one day realize their dream of facilitating the world’s greatest post apocalyptic-psychedelic crashpad. Meadoways currently cite Andy Frost, The Mighty Q and The Mighty Quinn as minor factors of consideration in their creation process. Sounds vaguely familiar to Las Vegas Goth, Classic Psych and the Folk Music of Ancient Desert Rogues.
Louisiana Child
Louisiana Child is a gritty rock and roll band from Toronto, Canada. They blend southern hard rock, blues, and country influences into a beautiful fusion of stomp-your-feet, bang-your-head medleys. They are currently in the studio recording their first 5 song EP.
Rhythm Oil
Rhythm Oil is a tight and groovy blues rock trio. They never fail to get hips swaying and feet stomping on the dance floor. The creation of singer songwriter Justin Deak, Rhythm Oil embodies full bodied, straight-tube-tone rock n roll. Blending elements of funk, southern rock and country, the band packs a solid vibratory punch in each original song. Their sound rings heavy and true, marked by sophisticated lyricism, wailing guitar tones and an A class rhythm section. By sheer power, performatory joy and effortless grace alone, this sonic engine, lubricated with a heavy dose of Rhythm Oil, is bound to keep audiences rolling in for more, time and again.
