The Promise of Music is a spectacular week of joy and inspiration that celebrates how music making transforms and saves lives across the world.

Orchestras, artists, dreamers, heroes and trailblazers from across the globe are gathering in Toronto to proclaim a simple truth: Music changes everything. With music education, children grow up to achieve significantly more academically, socially and interpersonally. They connect better with others, and create better careers for themselves.

About the Event

The Jerusalem Youth Chorus (JYC) is a powerful and inspiring choral and dialogue program that brings together Palestinian and Israeli youth. Through the shared creation of music and the courageous exchange of personal narratives, JYC empowers young people to build trust across divides and become ambassadors for peace.Founded in 2012, JYC has become a symbol of what’s possible when voices once separated by politics and conflict rise together in harmony. The chorus has gained international attention for its bold model of coexistence, performing everywhere from Jerusalem to Geneva, and appearing on major television programs including America’s Got Talent, NBC’s Today Show and CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Their collaborations include artists like David Broza, Jacob Collier, Duran Duran, and Matisyahu, with whom they created the viral hit “One Day.” The Jerusalem Youth Chorus invites the world to imagine – and sing – what peace could sound like.
