From Lab to Market is a dynamic panel discussion that will explore the lessons that can help those on the path to transforming cutting-edge science into products and services that change lives.
Co-presented by the University Health Network’s KITE Creates and the Toronto Chapter of Aging 2.0, this event is designed for healthcare professionals, academics, investors, and entrepreneurs interested in launching or supporting evidence-based, mission-driven ventures.

Robin Green, Senior Scientist, KITE (TRI), Research Division Head, KITE (TRI)
Dr. Robin Green is the Saunderson Chair in Acquired Brain Injury at the KITE Research Institute, the world's number one rehabilitation research facility, and part of Canada’s first-ranked hospital for research, the University Health Network (UHN). She is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto, and a scientific lead of the Schroeder Institute for Brain Innovation and Recovery and of the Canadian Concussion Centre.
Sophia Yue Li, Staff Scientist & Strategic Partnerships Manager at KITE Research Institute
Dr. Sophia Yue Li is a staff scientist and Strategic Partnerships Manager at UHN's KITE Research Institute, with cross-appointments as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. Armed with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Montreal, her research spans assistive technologies, the interplay of weather and the built environment on safety and accessibility, and human factors in fall prevention. With over two decades of biomedical engineering and rehabilitation expertise, Dr. Li has led impactful initiatives addressing practical challenges for older adults and people with disabilities.
Garrick Ng, KITE Creates Program Lead, Partnerships & Strategic Initiatives
Garrick is the Program Lead for KITE Creates, an initiative at the University Health Network’s KITE Research Institute that builds bridges between healthcare, creative technology, media, education, and design innovators to unlock novel, more human-centred approaches to caring for people with increasingly complex accessibility needs. Garrick has a background in impact storytelling, arts management and sustainability – having served diverse mandates in non-profit arts management, corporate sustainability and strategy and communications consulting. Garrick is a mentor in the social entrepreneurship community and has served as a graduate-level instructor for several major Canadian universities. He holds an MBA in Business & Sustainability from the Schulich School of Business.
Jonathan Suckling, Senior Manager, Health Innovation, CABHI
Jonathan Suckling has supported the growth of more than 50+ start-ups in the Age-Tech space and has a background in evaluating both health and social impact. He is a Senior Manager at The Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), a solution accelerator focused on driving innovation in the aging and brain health sector that is spearheaded by Baycrest, a global leader in aging and brain health and home to one of the world’s top research institutes in cognitive neuroscience.
