Dance Workshop with Louise Marius at Kungla (focus on leading/following in waltz and schottische)

Louise Marius from the Netherlands will be joining Kungla Estonian Folkdancers on Thursday October 23rd for a dance workshop. We are opening up the practice/workshop to any dance enthusiasts who would like to attend! The workshop will focus on leading, following and communicating with your dance partners, primarily dancing waltz and schottische/reinlender steps. Some basic dance experience (waltz and schottische/reinlender) is helpful.

Louise has been teaching dancing since 2008, in her home country of the Netherlands as well as across Europe. She has taught popular workshops at Big Branch Balfolk festivals in Ontario in 2018 and 2025. In the Netherlands, she started the CaDansa festival, which is now the biggest Balfolk festival in that country with over 1000 dancers attending annually. We are excited to have her join us at a Kungla practice and to invite community members to join us!

The workshop will be Pay-What-You-Can, suggested $15-$30. If cost is a barrier, please get in touch.

Bring comfortable dancing shoes (ideally indoor shoes), comfortable clothes to dance in, and a water bottle.
