Candles & Ceramics: Build your own beeswax candles and candle holders

Join us for a 3 hour session of hands-on creativity, led by Ailia Rizvi and Aidan Fitzgerald. During this two-part workshop in one evening, you'll rotate between a beeswax candle building station with Aidan and a ceramic handbuilding station creating a candle holder for your beeswax candle with Ailia.

Ailia is a Pakistani-Canadian craftsperson who’s work meditates on play, ritual and reverie. Ailia is always seeking new ways to bridge decoration with function, and solitude with communion. Aidan is a Toronto-based artisan specializing in individually hand-dipped taper candles made from locally sourced beeswax. With a strong foundation in sustainability from his undergraduate studies in Environmental Studies, Aidan is deeply committed to using natural materials and eco-friendly practices in all his work. His candles are designed to bring warmth and elegance to any space with a focus on craftsmanship. *Glaze will be applied by Ailia after the workshop outside of the Combine, you will have the choice of 3 glazes to choose from during the workshop. Bisque & glaze firing will also be completed outside of the Combine.
