In 2023, Anne Michaels published HELD, her third novel and first since 2009's THE WINTER VAULT, to critical acclaim. HELD won the 2024 Giller Prize and the Prix Transfuge du meilleur roman anglo-saxon, and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, but what happened after the awards cycle died down? When HELD was no longer on her publisher's front list?
