Join us for our all day art extravaganza! Our theme this year is Imagination. Let Imagination Grow by Exploring Art, Nature, and Movement. Both sessions include a yoga class for kids.
Yoga and the Mindful Imagination (AM Session)
Day will begin with a brief exercise to enliven our imaginations! We will practice light yoga based in exploring our connection to play and art.
Kinetic Play with Natural Objects (AM Session): In this playful, collaborative class, students will build one large, interactive sculpture using natural materials like sticks, rocks, and leaves—tied together with bright red yarn. The sculpture will gently move in the wind, when touched, or as new elements are added. Students will be encouraged to use their imaginations to see the sculpture in new ways—just like finding shapes in the clouds. This class is both a creative exploration and a community-building experience that invites participants to engage with nature, movement, and each other.
Vibrant and Visual Complementary Color Painting (PM Session): Students be ready to get messy (with smocks) and mix complementary colors, to find your own color palette to use for painting something you see outdoors in the landscape, or even one another! Using only their self-created color combo, students will be guided in their paintings but it’s really about experimenting with color and the world around you. Unexpected colors or colors combos, are welcome! Students will leave the class with interesting and maybe even some abstract paintings! There will be time for reflection and discussion while paintings dry.
Yoga and the Mindful Imagination (PM Session)
Children will end the camp with a children’s yoga session and game play activity bringing their time together full circle in closing session connecting their work with art and imagination.
