Join us in person if you like on Wednesday at Scholastica Healing Center as we live stream this Zoom study in community. Snacks included 😀
“Lament is the proper response to deep loss and suffering. It is not a sign of weakness or failure but a form of strength—an act of honesty and courage that opens the door to healing and transformation.” ~Richard Rohr
During this study we will explore:
• The Necessity of Lament and Mourning
• Melancholy as a Spiritual Condition
• Lament as a Path to Transformation
• Hope Rooted in Reality
• Community and Shared Grief
• Critique of Modernity and Western Disenchantment
Lets read and discuss using Rohr’s characteristic contemplative style, blending theology, spirituality, psychology, and cultural critique. His book draws heavily on:
• Biblical texts of lament (Psalms of lament, Lamentations)
• Christian mystics and saints
• Contemporary reflections; personal anecdotes and pastoral wisdom
All faith traditions are welcome!
