Beer Engine Days at Westgate

As seen during the Firkin Frenzy 2025, at the original South Toledo earnest brew works featuring Real English Ale. The earnest Beer Engine will be pulling great beer from casks at Westgate for a limited time. What the Beer Engine does to a beer cannot be discounted, it is special.

Casks (firkins) of English ale will be drawn from a beer engine. Many years ago, before pubs had CO2 tanks, ale was pumped via a device known as a beer engine.

Earnest Casks (ale carbonated in the same vessel it will be served from) are filled with ESB, Oatmeal Stout and a Dark Mild ale.
Drop by for a pint, served in the same manner Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Bill Shakespeare and Jack the Ripper enjoyed. Say no to forced carbonated beer and yes to a pint, carefully pulled 4 ounces at a time.
