North Shore Artists League Announces Annual Conference: "Discover, Connect, Thrive"
TOFTE, MN – July 29, 2025 – The North Shore Artists League (NSAL) is excited to announce its Annual Conference, "Discover, Connect, Thrive," a dynamic event designed to inspire, educate, and bring together artists of all skill levels. This year's conference promises an enriching experience with renowned speakers, engaging workshops, and unique networking opportunities within the vibrant North Shore arts community.
The NSAL Annual Conference will be held on Friday, October 25th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Waves of Superior Ballroom, located at 5733 North Shore Dr, Tofte, MN 55615.

This year's conference highlights include:
Keynote Address by Kelly Schamberger: We are honored to welcome internationally-awarded fine artist and representational oil painter, Kelly Schamberger, as our keynote speaker. Known for her captivating plein air landscapes, portraiture, and still life arrangements in realism and classical impressionism, Kelly will share insights from her prolific career, including her unique perspective on finding inspiration and purpose in art. Her work has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as Sotheby's New York and has even been included in a time capsule placed on the moon! A special behind-the-scenes workshop with Kelly Schamberger will walk you through the journey of building an exhibition-ready collection – from the first spark of inspiration to the final moments of the opening reception.
Diverse Workshop Offerings: Hands-on sessions covering a wide range of mediums and techniques, designed for various skill levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Highlights include:
"Show Me the Money: Grant Writing for Artists": Discover how to receive up to $4,000 in funding for individual art projects, along with essential tips and tricks for successful grant writing.
"Unleashing Creativity: Overcoming Artistic Blocks": Engaging discussions and demonstrations of tips and tricks to propel your art when you get stuck!
"AI as a Creative Ally": Curious about AI but not sure where to start? In this artist-led session, discover how artificial intelligence can become a powerful creative ally in your studio practice.
"The Art of the Tile: Movement and Effect": Explore the crucial role of tile movement in creating an effective whole, emphasizing that since pieces are placed and cannot be blended, careful arrangement is key to the overall effect.
"A Brief History in Clay": A brief look at human history as it is told by clay and the endless forms it can take. We will touch some material while we explore it.
Networking Receptions: Dedicated time for artists to connect, share ideas, and build lasting relationships within the supportive NSAL community.
