Alliance Française de Singapour – THE BIG BLUE
This is the story of two divers whose rivalry begins in the late 1950s. Young Jacques Mayol and Enzo Molinari compete to break deep-sea diving records, even until wwo decades later, where they vie for the world championship. “The Big Blue” is a captivating tale of friendship, the deep bond with the sea, and Jacques’ love for Johanna, a woman from the land.
Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, “The Big Blue” became a cult favourite in France, winning César Awards for Best Music and Best Sound, and securing its place as a classic in French cinema.
