Hey everyone!
Forget the fireworks (for a bit), we're kicking off the unofficial 4th of July celebration with a bang – or at least, a brisk run/walk! Join us Friday 4th of July at 7 AM for some patriotic pavement pounding at Sand Point Park.
This ain't no Olympic trial, folks. We're talking about a fun run/walk where the only goal is to get moving, enjoy the morning air, and maybe work up an appetite for those BBQ ribs later. Feel free to dress in your most outrageous red, white, and blue gear – bonus points for anyone who can run in a full Uncle Sam costume (we'll bring the water for that one).
The Nitty-Gritty (aka the Legal-ish Stuff)
Alright, while we're all about good times, here's the serious part (kind of):
* This is NOT an organized or sanctioned event. Think of it as a bunch of friends deciding to go for a jog together. There are no race bibs, no timing chips, and definitely no prize money (unless you count bragging rights for the best patriotic socks).
* You are participating at your own risk. Seriously, we're not responsible if you trip over your own two feet, get chased by a squirrel, or spontaneously combust from sheer awesomeness. Be aware of your surroundings, watch for traffic, and respect other park users.
* Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Even though it's early, Florida heat is no joke. Bring your own water bottle – we won't have a Gatorade station (unless someone brings one for sharing, in which case, you're our hero).
* Know your limits. If you're feeling under the weather or haven't run since high school gym class, take it easy! Walking is absolutely encouraged. We're here for fun, not for emergency room visits.
So, lace up those sneakers, dig out your most festive attire, and get ready for a low-key, high-spirit start to your holiday weekend. See you Friday 4th of July at 7 AM at Sand Point Park!
