Family Audiobook Night at The Bookshelf

Join us for our first-ever Family Audiobook Night on Thursday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m.! You and your kids will join us in the kids’ section to listen to a kids’ audiobook together.

We’ll have a limited number of cushions available, so please bring your pillows and bean bags from home to make your evening comfier.

We’ll have activity and coloring books for sale, but we encourage you to bring any quiet activities – activity/coloring books, knitting, etc – with you to enjoy while we listen.

On June 12, we’ll listen to one hour of the audiobook of The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, read by actor Rainn Wilson.

Your $10 ticket covers you and your kids’ admittance. This is not a drop-off event. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc, need to stay with their little ones! Light snacks and drinks will be served.

Family Audiobook Night is like Silent Reading Hour for families, but because this is for kids, we’re aiming for quiet – not total silence. Just like at Story Time, if your child makes noise or gets upset, we understand. If they get upset, you can take them outside until they calm down and rejoin the party, no problem. Don’t worry!

All ages are welcome, but we feel that this event is geared toward kids ages 5+.
