Join the Louisiana College Counseling Association for our Summer workshop. We will have three presentations for a total of 4.5 CEs.
Don't forget your business cards, because we will be having a networking lunch to help us meet new people and explore new connections!
Lunch will be provided and is included in the cost.
This workshop has been approved for 4.5 CE clock hours including 1.5 in Diagnosis, 1.5 in Supervision, and 1.5 in Multiculturalism by the Louisiana Counseling Association as authorized by the Louisiana Professional Counselor Licensing Board of Examiners.
Info: This collaborative presentation explores how current diagnostic frameworks may fall
short in fully capturing the range of psychological challenges experienced during the
perinatal period. We will examine diagnostic considerations within the DSM-5-TR,
including how cultural, clinical, and contextual factors influence assessment and care.
Through a case study and clinical discussion, we will highlight diagnostic gaps and
propose pathways toward more inclusive and responsive care for birthing people.
Info: The Presentation will provide a professional view on how to effectively serve and work in mixed culture population groups of students/colleagues. This information will also benefit counselors who work and provide services to clients in the mainstream population.
Info: Counselors often carry the emotional weight of others while navigating high caseloads, compassion fatigue, and personal demands. This workshop offers practical, realistic self-care strategies tailored for helping professionals. Participants will explore how nervous system regulation, boundary setting, and micro-restoration practices can be integrated into daily routines to foster sustainability, reduce burnout, and enhance professional longevity.
