In this engaging talk, Carolina Leal, an Audiologist from The Audiology expert in Leamington Spa, will explore the ways in which our bodies communicate beyond words, particularly in the context of hearing and audiology. With over 16 years of experience in both diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology, Carolina is uniquely positioned to discuss the non-verbal cues our bodies offer, especially in relation to auditory health. Her expertise, gained through working with both paediatric and adult populations in leading UK teaching hospitals, allows her to offer a deep understanding of how body language can reveal insights into hearing difficulties and emotional states.
Carolina will illustrate how posture, facial expressions, and other physical cues often provide critical information that goes unnoticed—insights that are vital for audiologists and healthcare professionals to recognise. Drawing on her background in clinical practice and teaching at institutions such as UCL and Aston University, she will share how these non-verbal signals enhance communication with patients and improve care outcomes.
