Shim-Sham Workshop

It is time to give a Shim-Sham workshop for those new people who have joined our community recently.

Maybe you have noticed that all swing dancers start dancing it when they hear the familiar tune. If you have not managed to follow them, come to the workshop and learn this Shim-Sham Shimmy!

The Shim-Sham is the solo jazz routine danced at almost every lindy hop social. You don't need any experience in solo jazz to join!

We’ll break down the iconic Shim Sham line dance — a staple of the swing era! Being originally a tap routine, it was adjusted to Lindy Hoppers by Frankie Manning, and now it is an absolute must for any vintage jazz dancer.

It is a solo jazz routine, suitable for absolute beginners. Gimme this shimmy!
