TCS talk, Thursday 10th July (7:30pm) - RAF Stoke Orchard Airfield -'from Cider to Glider'

On Thursday 10th July (7:30pm) we have an illustrated talk at the Tewkesbury Library on RAF Stoke Orchard Airfield -'from Cider to Glider' being given by Richard Chatham.

Richard has carried out research on the old Stoke Orchard airfield, near Cheltenham. In its hay day, RAF Stoke Orchard was the home of the Elementary Flying School No. 10, the Glider Training School No. 3, the War Dept. Maintenance Unit No 7 and WAAF officers Training School. The dining hall sat 600 at one sitting. On D. Day the first three gliders that landed at Pegasus Bridge were trained at Stock Orchard.
An entrance fee for our talk on Thursday is payable on the door: £3 for members and £4 for non-members.
