Tuesday Workbee at McConnell Estates

On Tuesday we are starting a new project. Family of one of the residents at McConnell Estates asked if we could address a neglected shrub bed near the entrance of the home. We looked and feel we can spend a bit of time and effort and make the area look better.

The plan for Tuesday is to remove the decomposed bark mulch layer and landscape fabric. If you have a bin or a bag the mulch material would work great as a top coat for blueberry bushes. We will trim back the overgrown red osier dogwoods and and some good soil that Kerry will bring.

In the fall we will go back and move the smaller plants and plant hostas and sweeps of lavender.

The cost should be minimal as we have a stash of hostas and lavender and a source for manure. The main cost will be the bark mulch and potentially a few shrubs.
