Not Just ANY Sunday is a privateer FUNdraiser event to benefit El Oasis Orphanage in Baja and to honor the memory and wishes of Malcolm Smith. This event is being organized in close cooperation with El Oasis, has the blessing of the Smith family, and we've secured authorization from Bruce Brown Films to use and adapt their OAS artwork for announcements, t-shirts, etc.

One to Honor a Legend
+ Memorial Day Weekend May 23-26, 2025
+ Easy Dual Sport / ADV ride that starts and ends at Hacienda Santa Veronica, 23 miles south of the Tecate border crossing (OPTIONAL: Alexander Smith will lead advanced riders on single track routes both days!)
+ Event highlight will be a heartwarming visit to El Oasis Orphanage on Sunday morning
+ Space is limited due to hotel availability
+ All proceeds go to El Oasis Orphanage (minimum $100 donation from each participant built-in to registration cost, plus sponsor contributions)
Description:
Arrive Hacienda Santa Veronica on Friday afternoon/evening, May 23 (dinner available).
Ride Day 1 (Saturday - 125 Miles)
Kickstands up at 9am following a ranch-style buffet breakfast beneath the watchful eye of prize-winning bulls mounted in the historically famous Santa Veronica Restaurant. We’ll head south on the simple and scenic Compadre Trail to a photo-op pit stop at a secluded suspension bridge, then continue to a unique lunch and tour at La Cava de Marcelo in Ojos Negros (tour, tastings, meal). After lunch we’ll gas-up in Ojos and ride Hwy 3 south to Hotel Del Valle and Valle de la Trinidad for dinner, a special evening program, campfire kickback, and a good night’s sleep!
Ride Day 2 (Not Just ANY Sunday - 132 Miles)
Kickstands up at 9am for an unforgettable visit to El Oasis Orphanage where we’ll be greeted by staff families and treated to music performed by the children during breakfast, then we’ll enjoy a proper piñata party and give the adventurous kids moto rides around campus before saying farewell and Vaya con Dios! Next a short ride back to Valle T for gas and on to the stunning beauty of Parque Nacional Constitución de 1857. Those who need it will find gas at the Sawmill, and we’ll all top off with some trailside snacks at the Laguna Hanson overlook. From there we continue north to La Rumorosa, gas-up, and conclude back at Santa Veronica for dinner and a special parting gift in the lounge.
Depart Hacienda Santa Veronica on Monday morning, May 26 (breakfast available).
