Today’s talk by renowned philosopher Massimo Pigliucci continues our three-week Philosopher’s Series, offering food for thought from noted philosophers as well as brunch!
Massimo, a leading voice in practical philosophy and a professor at City College of New York, will discuss ideas in his latest book, “Beyond Stoicism: A Guide to the Good Life with Stoics, Skeptics, Epicureans, and Other Ancient Philosophers.” Pigliucci, also the author of “How to Be a Stoic,” writes the popular Art of Living column in “Philosophy Now” magazine.

The Philosopher’s Series continues on Aug. 10 with “Human Emergence and our Place in the Natural World” by David Sprintzen, professor emeritus of philosophy at Long Island University. The first talk, “The Changing Nature of Work in an Age of AI” by Society Leader Curt Collier, who also teaches ethics and philosophy of science at Fairleigh Dickinson University, is July 27.
