Safe Home Canning Class

June 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. Free Home Canning Class at TMH. Join us for a free cooking class on safe home canning. In partnership with University of Illinois Extension, participants will learn the fundamentals of water bath canning, discover which recipe tweaks are safe (and which aren’t) and leave with research-backed canning recipes. Hands-on practical experience will include making a no-sugar-needed strawberry jam and a low-sodium dill pickle recipe. On the recent Community Health Needs Assessment survey, Christian County residents indicated a need for more nutrition education and accessibility of healthy foods.
