Salt Lake Astronomical Society June General Meeting - The Basics of Solar Observing

Please join the Salt Lake Astronomical Society next week on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, for a special evening with John Chapman-Smith, a lifelong amateur astronomer from across the pond in the UK. From witnessing the 1973 Total Solar Eclipse at sea to filming society meetings for over two decades, John’s passion for astronomy has taken him around the world. A Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and former Solar Section Director for the Society for Popular Astronomy, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, especially in solar observation.

All SLAS General Meetings take place at the Salt Lake Community College Taylorsville Redwood Road Campus in the Rampton Technology Building Auditorium 104. Please park at the north end of the building in lot 'R' only. Parking in lots other than 'R' will result in your vehicle being towed or fined. Neither of which SLAS is responsible for.
