Botanical Plaster Plaques

In this joyful workshop, you’ll create unique plaster plaques by capturing the intricate details of fresh foliage and flowers.

Learn to make a clay mould using seasonal flora and cast your own beautiful botanical design.

About the workshop leader:
Beth Philpot is a textile artist working from her home studio in the heart of mid Devon.

She uses a wide variety of techniques including embroidery, applique, fabric dying, beading and wirework to create one-off pieces of art and jewellery. Living in such a beautiful place she is spoilt for choice for inspiration – moor, coast, wild hedgerows, woodland, and a patch of wildflower meadow in her garden.

She trained and worked as a costume maker for theatre and film where she became particularly interested in embellishment, colour, and decorative work. A move back to the South West meant a change from costume work but provided plenty of inspiration and allowed her to combine her love of textiles and the natural world.
