TLC Volunteer Community Animal Mural

Join Tampa Legacy Collective, a small informal volunteer group, to create a vibrant 500 sq. ft. mural on the side of Jonis Pet Salon. This three-day event brings together local artists, volunteers, and neighbors to transform a concrete wall into a work of art, fostering connection and creativity.

Info: Prep & Sketch (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)

• Activities: Clean and prime the concrete wall, sketch the mural design using chalk, and organize painting stations.

• Volunteer Roles: Assist with wall cleaning (scrubbing, rinsing), or help trace the design.

• Perfect For: Those who enjoy hands-on prep work or want to learn mural basics.

• Lunch Break: 12:00–12:30 PM (bring your own lunch; water provided).

Info: Base Painting (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)

• Activities: Paint large background colors and base layers using latex and acrylic paints, guided by the sketched design.

• Volunteer Roles: Use rollers and brushes to fill in broad areas, mix paints, or assist with equipment setup.

• Perfect For: Volunteers who love painting and want to see the mural take shape.

• Lunch Break: 12:00–12:30 PM (bring your own lunch; water provided).

Info: Detailing & Finishing (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)

• Activities: Add details, accents, and final touches with acrylic paints, then apply a UV-resistant varnish to protect the mural. Celebrate with a group photo!

• Volunteer Roles: Paint intricate details, assist with varnish application, or help clean up.

• Perfect For: Detail-oriented volunteers or those who want to add the final flair.

• Lunch Break: 12:00–12:30 PM (bring your own lunch; water provided).

• Wrap-Up: 2:30–3:00 PM, group photo and thank-you.
