Suka: "The workshop aims to inspire the participants to expand their abilities with playful joy and harmonious movement. My studies of contemporary and urban dance, acrobatics, somatics, meditation, and various other movement and mindfulness modalities have led me to one of my most persistent research areas: combining raw physical challenges with an interest in mindful and efficient movement – moving upside down and inside out.
🌿Throughout the workshop, we’ll dive into:
- The Internal Dance of Attention through Somatic Research
- Dancing as an Examination and Celebration of our Anatomy and the Physics of Motion
- Playful Interaction with the Physical Environment and Other People
I am excited to invite you to my playground – a time and space for quiet reflection, wild play, and asking interesting (embodied) questions."
🌿ABOUT SUKA HORN: Born and raised in Germany, Suka Horn started training breakdance at the age of 12. This passion and the exploration of other styles led him to study at and graduate from Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam. In 2020 he moved to Athens to be part of Dimitris Papaioannou’s creation “Transverse Orientation”. This experience led to another creation “INK”, a duet with Papaioannou himself. After a five-year world tour with Papaioannou's productions and his own workshops, Šuka decided to focus exclusively on developing his research and teaching. His workshops have been taught in universities, dance companies, festivals, and studios across 19 countries.
