“JÄRELELU TULE JÄREL” toob esmakordselt ühte ruumi viimase kahekümne viie aasta skulptuurid rahvusvaheliselt Kohila sümpoosionilt. Juubelinäitus kuulub ** Disainiöö programmi.
Igal aastal valmib Kohilas toimuval sümpoosionil kümneid skulptuure ja keraamilisi kunstiteoseid, mis valmivad kunstnike käe all, kes on Eestisse kokku tulnud üle maailma. Tänaseks on sellel üritusel osalenud juba 250 kunstniku 35. erinevast riigist, julgustades sel viisil rahvusvahelist koostööd kui kultuurivahetust keraamika valdkonnas.
2001. aastast alguse saanud sümpoosion, mille algatas ahjumeister Andres Allik, on loonud elava arhiivi, mis räägib muutumisest, mälust, minevikust, tulevikust ning kuidas savi materjalina inimesi ühendab. Üle kahe kümnendi näevad paljud teosed taas ilmavalgust. Näitusel olevaid teoseid ei käsitleta üksikobjektidena, vaid seatakse need orgaanilistesse kooslustesse, sidudes omavahel erinevate aastate narratiive üheks tervikuks. “JÄRELELU TULE JÄREL” näitust võib vaadelda kui ökosüsteemi, kus iga väiksemgi skulptuur võib leida uue tähenduse mõne suurema kõrval. Skulptuurid astuvad esile isikupäraste tegelastena, igal ühel oma lugu, iseloom ja hing, luues dialoogi tule, aja ning looja vahel.
Näituse kogejad saavad ringi liikudes tunnetada ürgse tule kujundatud pindade, vormide ja lugude ainulaadsust. Kohila Tohisoo mõisaparki ehitatud Eesti esimene anagama-tüüpi ahi, millest Kohila Sümpoosion alguse sai, toimib siiamaani ning seob omavahel nii keraamika maastiku klassikud kui uued tulijad, eestlased ja ülejäänud maailma. Näitusel on esindatud paljud Eesti tipp-keraamikud nagu Leo Rohlin, Aigi Orav, Urmas Puhkan, Anu Rank-Soans jpt.
“JÄRELELU TULE JÄREL” eesmärk on Krulli kvartalis suuremamahuliselt ja põhjalikult tutvustada Eesti puupõletuskeraamika ajalugu, koostööd välismaailmaga ning keraamika sügavamat tähendust. Kohila Sümpoosion näituse loomine ning selle programm toimub koostöös Disainiööga. Peale põhinäituse, kus võib tutvuda ligi 100 erineva teosega, toimub juubelinäituse raames mitu kuraatorituuri, tutvustame vanemaid põletusviise nagu raku ja uuemaid loomisviise nagu 3D-printimine, mis on ajendatud ka Disainiöö selle aastasest deviisist “disain kõigile”. Koostöös keraamika tudengitega viiakse läbi töötubasid ning toimub ka Sümpoosionil aegade jooksul loodud väiketööde hüpik-müük.

“AFTER FIRE AFTERLIFE” brings together for the first time sculptures from the last twenty-five years of the international Kohila Symposium. The anniversary exhibition is part of the ** Tallinn Design Festival program.
Every year, dozens of sculptures and ceramic artworks are created at the symposium in Kohila by artists who have come to Estonia from all over the world. To date, 250 artists from 35 different countries have participated in this event, encouraging international cooperation and cultural exchange in the field of ceramics.
The symposium, which began in 2001 and was initiated by kiln master Andres Allik, has created a living archive that speaks of change, memory, the past, the future, and how clay as a material connects people. After more than two decades, many of the works are seeing the light of day again. The works in the exhibition are not treated as individual objects, but are placed in organic combinations, linking the narratives of different years into a single whole. The exhibition "AFTERLIFE" can be viewed as an ecosystem where even the smallest sculpture can find new meaning next to a larger one. The sculptures stand out as unique characters, each with its own story, character, and soul, creating a dialogue between fire, time, and the creator.
Visitors to the exhibition can experience the uniqueness of the surfaces, shapes, and stories created by primal fire as they move around. Estonia's first anagama-type kiln, built in the Kohila Tohisoo manor park, which marked the beginning of the Kohila Symposium, is still in operation today and connects both classics and newcomers in the field of ceramics, Estonians and the rest of the world. The exhibition features many of Estonia's top ceramists, such as Leo Rohlin, Aigi Orav, Urmas Puhkan, Anu Rank-Soans, and others.
The aim of "AFTER FIRE AFTERLIFE" is to provide a comprehensive and in-depth introduction to the history of Estonian wood-fired ceramics, cooperation with the outside world, and the deeper meaning of ceramics in the Krull Quarter. The Kohila Symposium exhibition and its program are being organized in collaboration with Design Night. In addition to the main exhibition, which features nearly 100 different works, there will be several curator tours as part of the anniversary exhibition, introducing older firing methods such as raku and newer creation methods such as 3D printing, which is also inspired by this year's Design Night motto, "design for everyone." In collaboration with ceramics students, workshops will be held and a pop-up sale of small works created over the years will take place at the Symposium.
The exhibition and events are free of charge for those interested.
