A stormy night. The flick of cards. Three gather to share terrifying tales from their past, but a fourth stranger has the darkest secret of all…
Sightless Cinema Tallaght return to Civic with their new show Dog’s Life, a programme combining immersive live and surround sound audio to create a unique theatrical experience. Blindfolds are provided…wear them if you dare! The group have worked with writer/director Hugh Hick to create some scary stories including The Devil’s Sliotar, a fun folk horror about a village desperate to lift the curse and win the county hurling final at last.
The evening also features performances by members of the Sightless Cinema Network from three counties, including Open Fire, a comedy set during an electricity black-out after a storm, where Nora is the only one in the district with hot water, and A Dog’s Life which lets us hear the voices of a litter of guide dog pups taking their final test course.
Sightless Cinema has presented audio theatre devised and performed by people with sight loss, in collaboration with Ciarán Taylor since 2015.
