Greetings! My name is Dusty. I've been living off-grid for the past nine years on my 40 acres surrounded by the Talladega National Forest, now known as Parksland Retreat.
In the fall of 2022, I completed a Permaculture Design Course in Spain, which inspired many of the projects I've been working on since then.
This spring, I started making biochar in a pyrolysis retort kiln I made and have been inoculating in worm tea from my vermicompost using an oxygen stone pump.
I am ready to start hosting workshops for those who would like to learn about biochar's part in creating living soil and the process I'm using.
Wednesday, August 6th, Parksland Retreat will be closed to regular guests, and I will host our first Biochar Workshop. Yes, Parksland Retreat is clothing optional, but this will be a clothed event.
