Winter is the best time for stargazing as the colder temperatures and reduced humidity create a much clearer and brighter view of the night sky, and the limited light pollution on Tiritiri Matangi Island makes it the ideal spot to explore the stars, discover the Milky Way and view distant galaxies and planets.
Ticket includes:
- Return ferry transfers from Viaduct Harbour, Auckland or Gulf Harbour, Whangaparoa to Tiritiri Matangi Island
- 4 hour island stop at Tiritiri Matangi Island
- Your guides will meet you at Tiritiri Wharf and take you to the best stargazing spot with minimal light pollution at the top of the island
- Enjoy a unique stargazing adventure as your guide points out the celestial features and points of significance in the southern sky
- Opportunity to explore the night sky via a conventional or digital telescope and view deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae
