Journey Along the Silk Road

Come and enjoy an afternoon of live music with the North Shore Concert Band as they take you on a journey of music from and inspired by the many countries, cultures and peoples connected by the Silk Road trading routes 🎶
We will pass through Greece, Morocco, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Persia, India, Korea, China, and Japan along the way.

Pieces include:

Scheherezade suite for band (Rimsky-Korsakoff)
Czardas (Vittorio Monti) – featuring Courtney Braunert on alto saxophone
Music from My Neighbour Totoro (Joe Hisaishi)
Folk Dances (Shostakovich)
Variations on a Korean Folk Song (John Barnes Chance)
