Mary of the Assumption is also the secondary patron of the Archdiocese of Seattle.

In the Catholic Church, each month of the year is dedicated to a particular devotion; in August, it's the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Catholic Church celebrates several Marian feast days in August, the most prominent of which is the Assumption of Mary on August 15.

Additionally, the Queenship of Mary is celebrated on August 22. Other Marian feast days or celebrations in August include the dedication of St. Mary Major (also known as Our Lady of the Snows) on August 5, and Our Lady of the Angels on August 2.
