Farrell & Hudson:
Mid-west native Lorenzo Farrell started playing piano at the age of five. In his teens, Lorenzo discovered jazz and made the switch to upright acoustic bass. After a musical hiatus where Farrell completed his college degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley and some extensive overseas travel, Lorenzo returned to the San Francisco Bay area where he quickly became a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist. Farrell joined Rick Estrin & The Nightcats in 2003, and has also performed and/or recorded with many well-known artists such as Wee Willy Walker, Elvin Bishop, and Little Charlie Baty’s Organ Grinder Swing, just to name a few.
Las Vegas born David Hudson has been drumming on the Seattle-Tacoma blues scene since the early 90’s. David was the co-leader of the long running Seattle-based Hudson Blues Band. Most recently, Hudson has been laying down the rhythm with The Mark DuFresne Band, The T-Town Aces, Farrell/Hudson Organ Trio, Paul Green Blues Band, and Kim Field & The Mighty Titans of Tone.
David has backed blues legends Jody Williams, Hubert Sumlin (Howlin’ Wolf guitarists), piano player Pinetop Perkins (Muddy Waters), and Steve Cropper (Booker T & the MG’s).
Hailing from Burien, Washington, Tanya Lee Hodel is an accomplished, multi-genre vocalist with over 30 years of performance experience. Tanya will be joining the fellas for a few tunes tonight.
Expect a host of special guests and loads of fantastic funky jazz tunes!
