Everyone is welcome to our Bon Odori Festival! As part of our Buddhist Religion,, we honor those who have passed by celebrating them through Japanese traditional dancing called Bon Odori. Everyone is welcome to dance, enjoy the food or just watch the dancing and taiko performances. 4pm: Food, beer garden and other booths open. 4:30: Obon service. 5pm: Dancing and taiko drumming will occur in front of our temple on Fawcett Avenue up from UW Tacoma. Feel free to bring a blanket, small chairs to sit on the sidewalk or hillside on the West side of the street. 8pm: memorial candle service in our lovely temple garden. Menu highlights: teriyaki chicken, unagi bowl, cold somen, spam musubi, mochi and pie. And of course Kori (shave ice). Credit card preferred for all purchases. Questions:
