Make your own Mug – 6pm, upstairs at Lazy Hiker Taproom, 617 W Main St, Sylva, NC 28779

Enjoy a cold Lazy Hiker Beer while you enjoy a night out and create your very own mug to keep or to gift!! Arrive early if you’d like to get dinner from the Mad Batter Kitchen.
You can never have too many mugs! No previous experience required. I walk you through the entire process. We’ll be using Stoneware clay. You’ll receive a pre slab rolled piece of clay, which you will then smooth the clay, add optional texture, cut out, and form into your very own mug. You’ll be joining the sides and bottom as well as fashioning and attaching the handle. I provide all tools and materials necessary to create your piece: Instruction, ware boards to shape and manage your clay project. Slab rolled clay, Patterns, tools for smoothing, texturing, cutting, finishing and shaping your piece.
You may opt to roll texture into your mug. You may like to indent a thumbprint instead of a handle, and we’ll talk about color options and you’ll be able to pick yours!
The pieces created will then be brought back to my studio for drying and bisque & glaze firing. Finished glazed projects will be returned to Lazy Hiker for pick up, within 3/4 weeks of class, allowing time for dryings, bisque firing and glazing & glaze firing .
Classes must be prepaid and are non refundable. I will ship to you if desired for $10.
