Youth Fishing Derby - Saturday, June 7th 7:00am – 11:00am (Park Gates open at 6:30am). This event is for ages 15 and under. Tournament fee is $10 per child, and park entrance fees are waived for participants.
RULES & REGULATIONS:
-Fishing tackle prizes will be awarded to the top two biggest Crappie, Yellow Perch, and Bluegill in each age category; no catfish, striped bass, trout or largemouth bass will be accepted for this tournament. A trophy will be awarded for the biggest fish caught in the tournament.
-A "Casting Contest" will be conducted with prizes for the top two casts in each age category.
-Wristbands will be issued to anglers on day of tournament. Anglers MUST be wearing the wristband while fishing and when presenting a fish at weigh-in. Anglers not wearing the wristband at time of fish weigh-in will be disqualified
-Fishing is allowed from piers, shoreline or boat. Boats must be electric motor only. If you have a gas motor on your boat it must be up and out of the water at ALL times. Electric motors will not be provided by Piney Run Park.
-Rental boats will be limited. The rental boat fee is $10. Please call 410-795-5165 to reserve your rental boat.
-Fishing, education, instruction and safety demos by experienced volunteers will be available on site to participants.
To receive a t-shirt, you MUST register your child by May 14, 2025; any registrations received after May 14, 2025 will not be eligible for a t-shirt.
