Dear Friends,
I hope you’ll consider coming to my Commissioning Service at First Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater on Sunday, September 7th at 3:00 p.m. This service is a celebration of God’s call and a time for us to share love with our community.
As part of the day, I would also invite you—if you are able and feel called—to bless our community through our church’s Blessing Box for kids. This special day is also my birthday, and instead of gifts for me, I’m asking for “gifts for the children.”
Kid-friendly foods: peanut butter, jelly (plastic jars preferred), applesauce cups or pouches, fruit cups, granola bars, cereal boxes, oatmeal packets, mac and cheese cups, crackers, goldfish, animal crackers, pudding cups, juice boxes, shelf-stable milk, and canned pasta like ravioli or spaghetti.
For little ones: baby food jars and pouches, infant cereal, formula, diapers (all sizes), and wipes.
For kids of all ages: new socks, underwear, toothbrushes, toothpaste, small hairbrushes, shampoo/body wash, and small extras like crayons or coloring books.
Your gifts will help fill the Blessing Box with love, reminding families that their children are seen, valued, and cared for. On this day we also affirm that kids are welcomed, supported, and loved here. You may drop these items in the bin as you proceed to the after-commissioning reception. Thank you for making my birthday a day of grace and generosity for the youngest in our community.
Lovingly,
Pastor Brad
