In 2023, The Philadelphia Folksong Society’s Musical Artists Cooperative (a mouthful shortened to (PFS/M.A.C), was reimagined for a post-covid world. PFS board member Rob Lincoln along with Jefferson Berry, Mara Levine and several other local musicians started to reenvision what a Philadelphia Music Co-op could be for this new landscape.
PFS/M.A.C became a true cooperative where Philadelphia Folksong Society member musicians supported one another all year round. Partnerships were created with a half-dozen venues for co-op members to play; PFS/M.A.C. produced 60+ shows in 2024. Today PFS/M.A.C. is thriving, along with the revived Philadelphia Folk Festival, which came back strong in 2024. More than a dozen PFS/M.A.C. artists will be playing at this year’s 2025 Philadelphia Folk Festival.
Tickets for Philly M.A.C. Fest, A Daylong Celebration are available for $10-$15 (children free) at pfs.org/pfs-mac.
