Saturday-Sunday
Aug 16: 10am-6pm
Aug 17: 9am-4pm

Prerequisites to attend include ICS100 and BEM (Basic Emergency Management) Certification as well as a valid CPIC/Vulnerability Check.
This certification opportunity further develops skills learned throughout 2025 and is free to attend thanks to the Search and Rescue New Initiatives Fund (SARNIF).
About Our Organization:
GFGSAR meets the first and third Wednesday of each month. Volunteers must contribute 40 hours per year (minimum) to be an operational Member in Good Standing. Members who contribute 200 hours in a calendar year are eligible for a Federal and Provincial tax credit of $6000 (min). Hours may consist of training, meetings, fundraising, outreach, and searches.
New members will be provided a Membership Application Package upon arrival. Please identify yourself to a member of the Executive to receive a Membership Application Package. This package will include the following:
- Membership Application
- Welcome Letter
- Letter from the Minister of Public Safety
- Request for Criminal Record Check
- List of Minimum Required Equipment (you can accumulate items from this list over your entire career as a GSAR Volunteer—you don't need all items in order to begin volunteering)
