Please join us for a hands-on Urban Forest Inventory and Analysis Outreach workshop.
Texas A&M Forest Service and the US Forest Service will be hosting a workshop focusing on practical applications of their Urban Forest Inventory & Analysis data for the St. Louis metropolitan area.
This half-day workshop will be held at Powder Valley Nature Center (11715 Cragwold Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122) from 8:30-12:30 on Wednesday, July 16. ISA CEUs will be available. See below for a workshop description:
Over the course of four hours, participants will explore My City’s Trees and Urban Forest Stats. These platforms are powered by i-Tree and built on Urban Forest Inventory and Analysis data. They are designed to help users of all backgrounds understand and share the value of tree canopy and make more informed management decisions.
The session includes a live demonstration of both tools, showing how they can support planning, management, and community engagement. Breakout sessions will give participants time to explore the tools in small groups and collaborate on ideas for using these resources in St. Louis. Participants will also take part in a communications training session that provides practical tips for using data to tell meaningful stories about their canopy. This training will help you speak more effectively about urban forestry and build stronger support in your community.
This workshop is presented by Texas A&M Forest Service in partnership with the US Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis program.
