Spanish Dreams with Giulio Tampalini & Daniele Fabio

Join the Newcastle Guitar Orchestra at Seventeen Nineteen for a magical evening celebrating the guitar and the music of Spain. Those who attended last year's event Italian Guitars with Giulio and Daniele will know that a treat is in store.

This year the theme is music inspired by the idea of Spain through the centuries. Starting with traditional music by from seventeenth century Spain, we have, from Italy, Luigi Boccherini's lively Introduction and Fandango; from France, six movements from Bizet's wonderful Carmen; from Germany; guitarist Fabian Payr's atmospheric November andVoyage Noir; and from America, Chick Corea's Spain, inspired by the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo.

Last but by no means least we have music composed by Daniele Fabio - a fantasy on Asturias by Isaac Albeniz, Juego - Fantasia Flamenca, and a new piece composed by Daniele specially for this event, Three Spanish Dreams for two solo guitars and guitar orchestra (this will be the world premiere).

This is the third piece that Daniele has composed for the Newcastle Guitar Orchestra, and it celebrates the growing friendships and bonds between these very special Italian guitarists and the North-East of England.
