Join me for a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of gongs. This special event invites everyone, regardless of experience, to play gongs and experience the benefits of a gong bath.
Are you curious about the mesmerising sound of gongs? Have you ever wanted to try playing one? Here's your chance. :)))) This isn't a formal training session; instead, it's a welcoming space to explore playing and immersing yourself in the vibrations and resonances of these powerful instruments.
What to Expect:
Landing time with breathing techniques alongside the singing bowls, giving time to arrive together gently
Then, I will begin with a demonstration during which I will share my experience and guide you through playing two strokes from a collection of techniques I learned from my teacher, Sheila Whittaker, at the College of Sound Healing. This introduction will set the tone for a mindful exploration.
Next, we will engage in a guided open-eye meditation, allowing you to witness my play as the sound moves me. Listen to the sounds and vibrations of the gongs with a soft gaze while focusing on your breath. This gentle practice will help you find your connection with the sound and the gongs.
Throughout the session, I will introduce seven beautiful gongs, with three comfortable mats surrounding each one. Participants will take turns playing, with each person having approximately 15 minutes to experiment and feel the resonance of the gongs. This session will last about an hour, ensuring everyone gets a short introduction to playing. When you are not playing, you can return to resting within the soundscapes of each other's play. I will also be playing some of the other gongs at his time and witnessing your play.
After everyone has had their turn, you will be invited to lie down and relax as I play for the remaining hour. Allow the sound waves to surround and move through you, providing a space for rest and restoration and allowing your consciousness to journey.
