Four speakers will be community leaders, creatives and organization powerhouses from local Indigenous communities in Virginia and the surrounding areas. Our moderator is the co-chair of the exhibition, Desmond Ellsworth. The conversation will be an opportunity to learn about the significance of Indigenous communities, creatives and organizations in Virginia and surrounding areas. Each speaker will address how their community or tribe’s presence continues to thrive and has contributed to the Virginia landscape. Additionally, each speaker will go into depth about their inspiration and technique behind their artwork. The conversation will expand on how the artwork is not only a form of personal expression but holds cultural significance.
