Harmonia Equestrian's 2025 Summer Day Camp Horseback Riding sign up is here!
We are offering two, one week sessions to choose from. June 23-27, July 28- Aug 1
Camps will be Monday through Friday 9am 2pm.
Ages 7 to 15
No experience necessary, camps are beginner friendly!
Camps will include:
*Daily Riding Lessons
-Riding lessons will be conducted under the supervision of our full time riding instructors, understanding the individual needs of each rider.
*Wooded Trail Rides
-Once each rider is comfortable in the saddle they will be able to enjoy wooded trail rides throughout the farm!
*Bareback lessons
-Balanced horse balanced rider. Riders comfortable in ditching the saddle will have the opportunity to feel just how the horse moves beneath them.
*Lessons on basic horse care
-An equestrian education reaches far beyond riding. Each participant will learn just what is required for a happy healthy riding equine partner.
*Lessons on horse anatomy
-Learn the names of the horse's anatomy and how to identify and treat areas in need of attention. Be gentle with the frog!
*Lessons on tack and grooming
-Learn the components and care for all riding equipment, before and after the ride.
*Bathing horses
-Cool off in the summer sun with your riding partner! See how water can make them smile!
*Fun time in the foam pit
-Foam pit time is time to be a kid. Participants will jump around in the Harmonia foam pit and make forts from the foam blocks. A favorite past time of our previous Summer Camps!
-Meet the owners and their mustangs
Jennifer Rose is a highly sought out horse trainer, having served clients from Canada to Mexico & California to Florida. Jennifer's intuition, patience and loving demeanor provides her with an innate ability to train horses. Her methods are kind and gentle—using the horse's language to achieve a connection while also creating a fun environment by using positive reinforcement. Jen is the 2024 Maryland State Mustang Challenge highpoint Champion.
Jen's husband, Joe, is an accomplished equine businessman who has created the mold for Kay's Acres Horseback riding & the Harmonia Equestrian you know today. He specializes in the gentling of feral (wild) horses to include mustangs, problematic horses, groundwork, and starting horses under saddle. Joe is the 2023 Maryland State Mustang Challenge Champion and was a featured clinician in the 2024 Horse World Expo providing demonstrations on topics such as feral horse and mustang training strategies.
