Bring your own small, wide-mouthed, glass jar (no more than 8 in. in diameter) & decorative elements (legos, small figures, marbles, etc) & we provide the pebbles, plants, moss & charcoal layer).
Build your own terrarium! You will create a miniature, self-sustaining ecosystem within a container.
Note: This program will run "open house" style between 4:30pm-7:30pm. If everyone comes at 4:30pm, you will undoubtedly need to wait. Please come at the time of your choice between 4:40-7:15pm. Thank you!
The process will include preparing your container, layering materials for drainage, providing soil and plants, and blinging it out with your own decorations.
Please bring with you:
A glass, wide-mouthed container at least 4 inches in diameter (and not more than 8 inches; no tanks!); think: wide-mouthed peanut butter jar or small fishbowl that you can get your hand into
Container could have a lid or be open
Decorative elements to personalize it -- marbles, action figures, leggos, sea glass, crystals, etc.
Library and Presenter will provide:
Small pebbles
Plants
Charcoal layer
Bonus: If you have moss growing in your yard, please harvest some and bring it with you in a food storage container. Thank you!
