“What Can Daoism Tell Us About Freedom?” Led by globally-renowned local author Ken Liu

In a time of tremendous change and uncertainty, technologist and speculative fiction author Ken Liu has found comfort in the Dao De Jing, a mystical philosophy text composed more than 2500 years ago. He shares with us his own journey with the book and how it brought him joy through a new understanding of the meaning of freedom.

Event will also include music and elements of our traditional First Parish worship service.

Ken Liu ( http://kenliu.name) is an American author of speculative fiction. A winner of the Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy awards for his fiction, he has also won top genre honors abroad in Japan, Spain, In addition to his original fiction, Liu also occasionally publishes literary translations. His most recent work of translation is a new rendition of Laozi’s Dao De Jing.
