Wellbeing is the measure of a person’s overall happiness, satisfaction with life, and positive outlook on life. Studies of wellbeing tell us that self-determination, self-management and relationships are important for a person’s wellbeing. Dr. Samelson will lead a discussion on wellbeing including practical ways we can improve our wellbeing.

Dr. Doreen Samelson is a licensed psychologist and author with 30 years of experience in healthcare as a practicing clinician, administrator and thought leader. Formerly an Area Director of five mental health clinics at Kaiser Permanente providing direct services to individuals with Behavioral health needs, she now serves as Chief Clinical Officer at the Catalight Foundation, leading its Catalight Research Institute. Her research interests include improving wellbeing and self-determination. Dr. Samelson is passionate about helping people with disabilities improve their lives.
